SHORT PROFILE
Rainer Malaka is professor for Digital Media at the University of Bremen. He is managing director of the Center for Computing Technologies (TZI) and director of the Research Training Group Empowering Digital Media funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation. He was member of the collaborative research center (CRC) on Autonomous Cooperating Logistic Processes and is currently member of the CRC EASE Everyday Activity Science and Enginering at the University of Bremen.

Professor Malaka’s research activities include multimodale interaktion, language understanding, entertainment computing, and artificial intelligence. Professor Malaka worked in a number of projects on semantic technologies and user interaction in the field of scientific data. In the DFG-funded projects Aim Data and InfoSys his team developed together with partners from the materials science novel systems for the management of scientific data.
