SHORT PROFILE
At the University of Bremen Philipp Wierzchowski studied business administration with a focus on accounting and finance in his bachelor’s and master’s degree. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant for the chair in Financial Technology and for the professorship in Empirical Economic Research and Applied Statistics. By working on data analytical research projects and personally focusing his studies on data science, he was able to gain in-depth knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of applied data analysis. In addition to this, Philipp Wierzchowski worked in an auditing company during his studies. After successfully completing his studies, Philipp Wierzchowski has been a PhD student at the Chair of Empirical Economic Research and Applied Statistics since June 2022.
His research focuses on applications of machine learning in accounting and finance. His goal is to find best practice solutions for various processes in these areas using AI methods. His focus is primarily on processes in the areas of internal accounting, auditing, and tax consulting.
