SHORT PROFILE
Nils Leusmann completed his Bachelor’s degree in
Information Technology at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Stuttgart in 2016.
This was achieved in cooperation with Siemens AG, where he primarily focused on the installation and maintenance of complex IT infrastructures.
During this time, he developed a deep passion for understanding complex systems, which led him to leave Siemens AG in 2017 to pursue a Master’s degree
in
Computer Science at the University of Bremen. He successfully completed his Master’s program in 2020.
Immediately afterward, from 2020 to the end of 2024, Nils Leusmann worked as a research associate at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bremen.
His research primarily focused on digital twins, robotics, and cognitive architectures, with a particular emphasis on knowledge representation and reasoning.
Currently, Nils Leusmann is pursuing a Ph.D. as part of the interdisciplinary BMBF-project “INDIFUN-AI,”.
This work is conducted at the DSC and Faculty 3 (Mathematics and Computer Science). The project’s goal is to develop self-assessment routines
for online algorithms using domain-specific data. Within the scope of this project, his work involves creating a system to monitor the “health” of the Arctic Ocean through indicators
and evaluate their reliability.
